Restrictions:

• To visit Tortuguero there is maximum of 25 pounds (12 kilos) per suitcase per person. Without exception. We can store the remaining luggage while you are in Tortuguero.
• Physical capability to walk about 1 mile while in Tortuguero.

The price of all packages reflects the best approximation of the final rate, but is subject to change until the reservation is confirmed.

This program gives you the opportunity to enjoy Tortuguero. This option is for nature lovers!

→ First Day. Arrival

The first hotel to stay is Balmoral hotel. This Hotel has an excellent location, which is in the Historic Center of San Jose, on the main pedestrian boulevard of the city.

A few steps from the hotel, you will find the National Museum, The Gold Museum, The Jade Museum, the National Theater, medical services, entertainment, and much more…!

Enjoy the essence of Costa Rica, with friendly and caring hospitality featuring a vast array of onsite facilities and services, offered in the best location in San Jose, just steps from downtown, all at great value.

The hotel is located right on Avenida Central, San Jose’s most famous and visited pedestrian boulevard and provides unmatched access to local attractions, shopping, dining and nightlife. It’s the ideal location for business travel and vacations for families, couples and groups. This first day we can arrange meals and activities if arrivals are early in the day.

→ Second Day. San Jose to Pachira Lodge in Tortuguero.

• Between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Approx. we will pick you up to start this wonderful journey. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension.
• At 8:30 a.m have a taste of a delicious Costa Rican breakfast in route, then we will get back on the bus heading to the canals where we will board our boat. Between 10:30 and 11.00 am Approx. board a comfortable boat and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty. A life jacket must be worn during all boat transportations.
• 1:00 p.m Enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious Lunch as we welcome you to our hotel.
• 2:30 p.m After lunch, enjoy nature in all its splendor by touring the canals and taking your best photos.
• 7:00 p.m A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge.

AVAILABLE NIGHT TOUR (not included): Walk on the beach and admire the spawning of Tortuga Verde. (July and September). We can add the above activity at a additional cost, up on request.

→ Third day. Tortuguero

• 7:00 a.m Discover the flavors of Costa Rica with breakfast at the Lodge.
• 9:00 a.m Walking tour the Lodge’s private trail.
• 1: 00 p.m Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Lodge.
• 2: 45 p.m After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach and the small and picturesque city of Tortuguero.
• 7:00 p.m A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge.
• Optional tour in the evening (not included): Evening walk to admire green turtles spawning (July to September)

→ Fourth day.  Tortuguero to San Jose

• 7:00 a.m Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Lodge.
• 9:30 a.m Departure to Guapiles for lunch.
• 1:00 p.m Lunch at El Ceibo Restaurant.
• 2:00 p.m Depart to San Jose
• 2:05 p.m Arrival to San Jose

→ Fifth day.

The summary of the logistic of this program would be as follows:

• Day 1. Meet and greet your driver at Juan Santamaria International Airport to take you to your hotel in San Jose Appox. travel time 30 minutes. (Car renting is also available) (Check in time is at 3:00pm).
• Day 2. Bus/boat transfer to Tortuguero. Full breakfast in route. Approx. driving time: 3 hrs.
• Day 3. Tours to the Tortuguero National Park and Tortuguero village. Approx. travel time: Minutes
• Day 4. Water/ground transfer to El Ceibo restaurante for lunch, then to a hotel in San Jose.
• Day 5. Transfer to the Juan Santamaria international airport. Approx. driving time: 30 minutes
