Restrictions:
- To visit Tortuguero there is maximum of 25 pounds (12 kilos) per suitcase per person. Without exception. We can storage any extra luggage while you travel to Tortuguero.
- Physical capability to walk about 1 mile while in the Tortuguero section of the program.

FIRST DAY San Jose sightseeing
Breakfast at hotel. The Hotel has an excellent location, which is in the Historic Center of San Jose, on the main pedestrian boulevard of the city. A few steps from the hotel, you will find the National Museum, The Gold Museum, The Jade Museum, the National Theater, medical services, entertainment, and much more…! Enjoy the essence of Costa Rica, with friendly and caring hospitality featuring a vast array of onsite facilities and services, offered in the best location in San Jose, just steps from downtown, all at great value. The hotel is located right on Avenida Central, San Jose’s most famous and visited pedestrian boulevard and provides unmatched access to local attractions, shopping, dining and nightlife. It’s the ideal location for business travel and vacations for families, couples and groups. This first day we can arrange meals and activities if arrivals are early in the day.
SECOND DAY San Jose to Pachira Lodge in Tortuguero.
Between 06:00 a.m. and 06:30 a.m. Aprox. We will pick you up early in the morning at your Hotel in San Jose. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension.
08:30 a.m Have a taste of a delicious Costa Rican breakfast in route.
10:00am board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty.
11:00am Board the roofed motor-boat to your hotel in Tortuguero.
1:00 p.m Enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious Lunch as we welcome you to your hotel.
2:30 p.m After lunch, enjoy nature in all its splendor by touring the canals and taking your best photos.
7:00 p.m A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge.
AVAILABLE NIGHT TOUR (not included): Walk on the beach and admire the spawning of Tortuga Verde. (July to September). We can add the above activity at a additional cost, up on request.
THIRD day Tortuguero Siteseeing
- 7:00 a.m Discover the flavors of Costa Rica with breakfast at the Lodge.
- 9:00 a.m Walking experience in the Lodge’s private trail.
- 1: 00 p.m Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Lodge.
- 2: 45 p.m After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach and the small and picturesque city of Tortuguero.
- 7:00 p.m A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge.
- Optional tour in the evening: Evening walk to admire green turtles spawning (July to September)
FORTH day Tortuguero to Los Lagos Hotel at La Fortuna
- 7:00 a.m Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Lodge.
- 9:30 a.m Departure to Guapiles for lunch.
- 1:00 p.m Lunch at El Ceibo Restaurant.
- 2:00 p.m Depart to La Fortuna (switch to Interviajes transportation)
- 4:30 p.m Arrival to your hotel in La Fortuna.

FIFTH day at leisure
After breakfast at Los Lagos, you will have a large variety of available (but not included) activities to choose from like Ziplining, Horse-back Riding, ATVs, White-water Rafting, Hanging Bridges, Cultural, waterfalls, hiking, motor boat tours in the lake, Birding, Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, etc. In order to book any of the above activities, you need to contact the hotel’s front desk to learn about prices, hours, grade of difficulty, etc. and always request certified tour guides to accompany you on your chosen tour/s. We can add any of the above activities at a additional cost, up on request.
SIXTH day. La Fortuna to Monteverde
The fourth place to stay is Hotel & Spa Poco a Poco, a hotel up in Monteverde at 6.500 feet over the sea level, but only about 2.5 hours away from the Juan Santamaria International Airport. There are many other hotels options, some of them much more economic. Please remember that I can adjust to your desired budget!
Monteverde area is home of about 2000 species of plants, 100 species of mammals and 400 species of birds, among them the great Resplendent Quetzal!
Monteverde History: In the early 1950s, a group of Quakers from the United States left their homes in Alabama and arrived in Monteverde at a time when the region was just beginning to be settled. The Quakers, fleeing the United States to avoid being drafted into the Korean War, established a simple life in Monteverde, centered on dairy and cheese production.
In 1972, the Monteverde rainforest was threatened by local farmers looking to expand their property and homestead on certain forest sites. With this prospect in mind, visiting scientists George Powell and his wife joined forces with longtime resident Wildford Guidon to promote the establishment of a nature preserve. An initial land purchase of 328 hectares (810 acres) formed the core of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve.
Following the preserve’s creation, the Tropical Science Center continued to secure the financial and human resources necessary to expand, consolidate, and properly protect the preserve’s current 10,500 hectares. This is just one more example of Costa Rica’s commitment to sustainability.

EIGHTH day. Monteverde to an All Inclusive hotel in Puntarenas

TENTH day. Transfer to the SJO international airport.
The logistic of this program would be as follows:
- Day 1. Meet and greet your driver at Juan Santamaria International Airport to take you to your hotel in San Jose Appox. travel time 30 minutes. (Car renting is also available) (Check in time is at 3:00pm).
- Day 2. Bus/boat transfer to Tortuguero. Full breakfast in route. Approx. driving time: 3 hrs.
- Day 3. Tours to the Tortuguero National Park and Tortuguero village. Approx. travel time: Minutes
- Day 4. Water/ground transfer to your next hotel in La Fortuna. Enjoy hotsprings at the hotel.
- Day 5. Full day to enjoy a large variety of tours (not included) in the area like Ziplining, hanging bridges, ATVs, Arenal Volcano Hike, Waterfalls, Horse-back Riding, White-water rafting, River Floating, Birding, etc.
- Day 6. Bus transfer to your hotel in Monteverde. Approx. travel time: 3 hrs.
- Day 7. Full day to enjoy many different tours in the area like Coffee & Chocolate tour, Hiking in the Monteverde Reserve, Night walk, Hanging Bridges in the Cloud Forest, Horse-back Riding, Butterfly Gardens, Amphibians Garden, etc.
- Day 8. Today you can depart the hotel after lunch to go to your next All Inclusive Hotel Fiesta in Puntarenas: Approx. driving time 2 hours. Check in time at All Inclusive Fiesta: 3:00pm, but you can come in earlier to enjoy the premises, you will get your room until 3:00pm though.
- Day 9. All day at All Inclusive Fiesta Hotel.
- Day 10. Depart to the SJO international airport. Approx. driving time: 1.5 hrs.
