The highway to this Aerial Tram goes through the B. C. National Park and the views are breathtaking. If you walked just a hundred yards to either side from the road you would be enveloped in another time. Inhabitants of this park include more than 500 species of birds. Over 150 species of mammals. Doka Coffee Tour

Since 1940 Vargas family is dedicated to growing coffee. A coffee Plantation that was born in the slopes of Poas Volcano, not far from our Capital City. Visiting the largest coffee plantation in Costa Rica will allow you to learn everything about the process related to cultivation, processing and good practices, as well as your natural and cultural environment. Discover the step-by-step process of seed germination to the first crop of the coffee plants. There you will observe and be explained the development process of the plant up to the point of recollection of the ripe grain. You will also learn about the history of the estate, its owners, the production and varieties of plants, the geography of the area and the traditional ways of cultivating the grain.

Irazu Volcano

(This tour can be combined with a lunch at the Orosi Valley)

The Irazu volcano’s summit has several craters, one of which contains, a green crater lake of variable depth. At 11,260 feet (3,432 m), the Irazú Volcano is the highest active volcano in Costa Rica. It is easily visited from San Jose, with a road leading right up to the summit craters. It is thus a popular tourist spot. The summit of the volcano also houses a few television transmitters for television stations in San Jose.

From the top it is possible to see both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans on a clear day. However, such clear days are rare, and the volcano’s summit is usually cloud-covered.

The volcano is contained within the Irazú Volcano National Park, which spreads across 5,705 acres (2,300 ha). The national park contains both primary and secondary mountain forests and is home to armadillos, owls, rabbits, foxes, woodpeckers, and hummingbirds.

Poas Volcano

(This tour can be combined with Doka Coffee tour or The Peace Waterfall Gardens)

The Poás Volcano, is an active 2,708-metres (8,885 ft) stratovolcano in central Costa Rica and is located within Poas Volcano National Park. It has erupted 40 times since 1828, including one in April 2017. The volcano and surrounding park were closed for nearly 17 months, with a 2.5 kilometer safety perimeter established around the erupting crater. As of September 1, 2018 the park has reopened with limited access only to the crater observation area and requires a reservation to be made on the National Park Website. Adjacent trails to Lake Botos as well as the museum at the visitor center remained closed.

There are two crater lakes near the summit. The northern lake is known as the Laguna Caliente («hot lagoon») and is located at a height of 2,300 m in a crater approximately 0.3 km wide and 30 m deep. It is one of the world’s most acidic lakes. The acidity varies after rain and changes in volcanic activity, sometimes reaching a pH of almost 0; consequently, it supports little or no aquatic life. The bottom of this lake is covered with a layer of liquid sulfur. Acid gases create acid rain and acid fog, causing damage to surrounding ecosystems and often irritation of eyes and lungs.

Lake Botos, the southern lake, fills an inactive crater, which last erupted in 7500 BC. It is cold and clear, and is surrounded by a cloud forest within the National Park boundaries.

The Peace Waterfalls Garden

(This tour can be combined with Doka Coffee Tour or The Poas Volcano)

The Peace Waterfall is the most famous waterfall park in Costa Rica. It also have an animal rescue center where you will have opportunity to have yellow-breasted and keel-billed Tucans posing beside you for a picture or the chances of having 14 different humming bird species hovering all around you. You will also see monkeys, sloths, jaguars, the morpho butterfly and many other animals.

When you think about Costa Rica, you probably imagine lush tropical rain forest, flowing white rivers, spectacular waterfalls, birds, butterflies, monkeys, hummingbirds, snakes, felines and frogs. At La Paz Waterfall Gardens, you are guaranteed to see all that and more.

The last shuttle pick up from the exit trail is at 5:00 p.m. We recommend the last visitors to enter the park at 3:00 p.m. to insure that they have enough time to walk the primary trails.

With over 3.5 kilometers of walking trails and educational animal exhibits to enjoy, we recommend a minimum of 2 hours for your visit.

Waterfall Gardens is primarily a self-guided tour allowing the visitors to proceed directly to their areas of interest. Guided tours are also offered.

Please keep in mind that the park ranges in altitude from 5,200 feet to 4,200 feet so it can get chilly when the clouds roll in.

ATV Los Sueños Adventure Park

(This tour can be combined with Ziplining, Horse-back Riding, The Crocodile Safari or Beach)

Los Sueños Adventure Park claims to be the best Jungle & river ATV and Buggy adventure in Costa Rica. Once at the adventure park, you will receive instructions and then take a test run on our specially designed private track, before you begin your journey. we have single ATV, double ATV and Buggy to enjoy this tour, your guide will lead you along the jungle trails, following rivers and sometimes bumpy dirt paths.

The riding time is approximately 1.5 hours. Time and trail conditions allowing, you can take a quick swim in our natural pool, were the guides will have some cool water, and at the end you will have fresh fruits.

Beach Day at Tortuga Island Catamaran Cruises

(Whole day tour)

From Puntarenas city on the Pacific coast is where a Catamaran cruise will be waiting to take you to a wonderful beach on the Tortuga Island. Cruise the beautiful Gulf of Nicoya to Tortuga Island on board of a catamaran, where you can relax on the forward deck in one of the two fresh water pools or sunbathing on one of the giant nets. Delicious tropical fruits will be served on board. Enjoy the Snorkeling excursion and Banana Boat ride at no extra cost.

A four course gourmet lunch is served on tables each set with white linen under the shade of umbrellas and giant parachutes for a “Casual Elegant” dining experience.

Crocodile Safari

The Tarcoles River is considered as one of Costa Rica’s tourist attractions. Its climb to fame is that it houses one of the world’s largest crocodile population per square kilometer. This river isn’t only important to over 2000 crocs in the area, it also acts as a very significant watershed of the Central Valley.

The Crocodiles that we can observe are in their natural wild habitat, the tour guide will give you all the due explanation about the Crocodiles, in addition, inductions are made on types of flora and fauna, as well as the different birds that are in the habitat.

These reptiles have remained on the planet for more than 200 million years, without significant changes in such a way that they are considered “Living Dinosaurs.” You can observe them without any complexity and at very short distances. You can also observe other reptiles such as Iguanas and Basilisks sharing their natural habitat.

Deep Sea Fishing

The Costa Rica fishing season is year round with the peaks for billfish (sailfish, and black, blue, and striped marlin) being during the tropical Gold Season, December through June. However, marlin can be found throughout the Green Season at the nearby sea mounts, with double digit marlin releases a common occurrence.

The rich warm waters of Costa Rica’s Pacific Ocean attract many different species of fish throughout the year. The predatory fish that sport fishermen enjoy are attracted by the numerous plankton and feeder fish.
