Sarapiqui Lowlands
At you arrival you will be taken to your hotel in Sarapiqui. This route is your gateway into a magical world of the rain forest. Here you will immerse yourself in the lush green tropical nature.
The Sarapiquí River, which crosses the canton from South to North, has a relevant history in Costa Rica. It was the first transport route between Costa Rica and Europe during the late 19th century.
The main agricultural activities in the region are: banana, pineapple, coffee, corn, cocoa and livestock. Tourism has had an important development in the last years, thanks to the recreational activities practiced in the Sarapiquí river. Sarapiqui is the perfect place for birders and nature lovers in general.
In Sarapiqui you have many different outdoor activities to choose from like: White-water Rafting, Horse-back Riding, Ziplining, River Floating, Sarapiqui River Safari, Chocolate Tour, Pineapple Tour, Bat Tour, Nature Walks, etc. We can add any of the above activities at a additional cost, up on request.

To do this program, you need to book you flight to arrive in Costa Rica early in the day since after your arrival you will head to Sarapiqui which is approx. 2 hours from the airport. Otherwise, you will have to stay the first night in San Jose.
The logistic of the program would be as follows:
- Day 1. Meet and greet one of our representatives at Juan Santamaria airport to be taken to Sarapiqui. Appox. travel time 2 hrs. (Car renting is also available).
- Day 2. This day you decide what activity you want to start with from the list above or just relax to read your favorite book laying on pool lounge chair.
- Day 3. Today you can enjoy more adventure activities.
- Day 4. This day you can depart the hotel after breakfast to go the Waterfall Gardens (1 hr. drive), spend the day there and around 3:00pm continue to San Jose. (2 hrs. drive).
