The place to stay is Savegre Hotel Natural Reserve & Spa, a lodge up in the mountain at 7.220 feet over the sea level, but only about 2.5 hours away from San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica.
If you do not want to rent a car, we can provide a private transportation from Juan Santamaria International Airport to Savegre and back to San Jose. Once at the lodge you will not need transportation and if you do, the front desk people can help you with it. Savegre Hotel Natural Reserve & Spa is a special place to visit with you spouse. A great place for bird watchers since it is home of approx. 350 species of them, among them the great Resplendent Quetzal!

The logistic of the program would be as follows:
- Day 1. Meet and greet your driver at Juan Santamaria International Airport to take you to Savegre. Approx. travel time 2.5 hrs. (Car renting is also available) (Check in time is at 2:00pm).
- Day 2. This day you decide what activity you want to start with from the list above or just relax to read your favorite book on a chair in the porch while enjoying the gardens being accompanied by the birds including humming birds.
- Day 3. This day you can depart the hotel after lunch to go to San Jose: Approx. driving time 2.5 hours).
