Aerial Tram at RFA Caribbean

The highway to this Aerial Tram goes through the B. C. National Park and the views are breathtaking. Nature Walk at Pozo Azul Park

With only 0.03% of the entire surface of the planet, Costa Rica is home to almost 6% of the world’s biodiversity; Sarapiquí has 4% of this biodiversity, turning this area as a MUST for Nature Experiences. Hacienda Pozo Azul is a 2500 acres Private Reserve that has designed more than 10 miles of jungle trails that offers alternatives for all, with different degrees of difficulty and variety of attractions. We have Nature walks that vary from 40 minutes to up to 3 hours.

Most of the trails go through a 400 ft long hanging bridge over the Sarapiquí River with a magnificent view. The natural beauty of Sarapiquí combines with the excellent service and knowledge of the guides to provide a great experience for birdwatchers, photographers, students and everyone interested in experiencing the Costa Rican Rainforest.

The Peace Waterfalls Gardens

(Whole day with lunch)

The Peace Waterfall is the most famous waterfall park in Costa Rica. It also have an animal rescue center where you will have opportunity to have yellow-breasted and keel-billed Tucans posing beside you for a picture or the chances of having 14 different humming bird species hovering all around you. You will also see monkeys, sloths, jaguars, the morpho butterfly and many other animals.

When you think about Costa Rica, you probably imagine lush tropical rain forest, flowing white rivers, spectacular waterfalls, birds, butterflies, monkeys, hummingbirds, snakes, felines and frogs. At La Paz Waterfall Gardens, you are guaranteed to see all that and more.

The last shuttle pick up from the exit trail is at 5:00 p.m. We recommend the last visitors to enter the park at 3:00 p.m. to insure that they have enough time to walk the primary trails.

With over 3.5 kilometers of walking trails and educational animal exhibits to enjoy, we recommend a minimum of 2 hours for your visit.

Waterfall Gardens is primarily a self-guided tour allowing the visitors to proceed directly to their areas of interest. Guided tours are also offered.

Please keep in mind that the park ranges in altitude from 5,200 feet to 4,200 feet so it can get chilly when the clouds roll in.

The river is popular with rafters, who come to ride its rapids, but it also has calmer sections that are perfect for leisurely, safari-style floats. This boat tour is the perfect way to explore the river’s vibrant ecosystems. As your boat cruises down the river, your captain will be on the lookout for wildlife in the water and on the land. You may be able to see monkeys, iguanas, sloths, crocodiles, alligators, otters, and a variety of bird species. Your guides will help you spot this animals and explain the ecological significance of the surrounding area. This tour lasts two hours and takes place on a comfortable, modern boat. Chocolate Tour

This tour takes you on a journey through time to discover the history behind «the drink of the gods», how was it prepared by the ancestors, how has it been modified over time and how is it prepared today, take to your palate the characteristic of flavor of chocolate and cocoa, through the cocoa plantation you will learn that this plant has had an impact on the global economy throughout history. The chocolate excursion is an educational and enjoyable activity, for all ages. The tour will start in the 2 acres of cocoa plantations. You will learn everything about the cocoa plant, flowers and pollination. White-Water Rafting at Pozo Azul Park

The Sarapiquí River is known as the scenic river of Costa Rica’s tropical rain forest, with 35 Kilometers through forest reserves, stunning views and full of enjoyment for all. A first section with 11 Km. of truly white waters rapids class IV, for the expert and physically fitted ; the 13 Km of Classes II and III for beginners and intermediates ; and the lower Safari section for nature enjoyment at its fullest. Fourtrax Adventure We start at La Pradera Hotel, after a little explanation of how to drive, the security rules and a driving practice, we will go to a private farm, through a beautiful scenario of nature, trees, birds and animals, we will enjoy all the way to the a very high point on the base of the volcano, there you can see the all area of the Arenal and of course the Majestic Arenal Volcano, there we will have a drinks and after a break we are all set for the rest of the adventure.

La Fortuna Waterfall

The Fortuna River waterfall is located in a biological reserve with an area of 210 acres of transition premontane tropical wet forest, part of the Arenal Volcano National Park and is located at 520 meters over the sea level.

To observe this splendid 70 meters high waterfall, visitors must pass a path of approximately 530 steps, which offers greater security to its passage and comfortable areas for rest and hydration through a forest with native trees of the area. Once in front of the waterfall, you will find a spacious and comfortable vantage point from which you can freeze your memories using unique and previously unpublished photographs, and finally take a refreshing swim in the clear waters of the Fortuna River, with an only witness (the River Fortune waterfall).

Ziplining at Arenal

An authentic adventure in the rainforest that is full of adrenaline and in harmony with the environment.

A 3 km (2 mile) zip line adventure trail takes you to the Pino Blanco waterfall, surrounded by canyons up to 120 meters high (360 feet). The Arenal Volcano and Cerro Chato will be waiting for you.

Enjoy the only zip line tour that allows you to fly above the La Fortuna Waterfall, across a 980 meter cable (over a ½ mile!), at a spectacular height.

After the zip line adventure, you will visit the Maleku Cultural Rescue Center. You can then choose to return to the reception desk on horseback (for an additional cost) and enjoy the scenic beauty along the 2 km ride.
